Poor Wayfaring Stranger (1988 - Clean Version) - Joni Mitchell
Просмотров 16614 дней назад
Joni Mitchell contributed a cover of the traditional song, "Poor Wayfaring Stranger" for inclusion in the 1988 film, Iguana. The version in the film (and rips posted online) feature the song with the sound of waves crashing. This is my attempt to clean it up.

Heroes' (Full Acapella) - David Bowie & Tony Visconti

The acapella track from David Bowie's "Heroes'", featuring Bowie and producer Tony Visconti. Although the instrumental bleed could have been removed using AI, I left it in, as it's pretty interesting to hear the monitor mix of what Bowie was recording his vocals to at this time.

There is no archeological evidence that Christ ever existed.

I find the actual debate quite frustrating - the Pythons could have been far more hard-hitting, yet still polite - e.g. they could have asked these two phoneys whether they had actually seen the film (?). The 'opposition' are completely wrong-footed and shown to be ridiculous - as was Mary Whitehouse at the time - and as her successor Ann Widdecombe was later to be ridiculed so brilliantly by Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens when debating the Catholic church - ruclips.net/video/JZRcYaAYWg4/видео.html - there, for example, Widdecombe keeps bleating on about the ten commandments, and is brilliantly quashed by Hitchins - and here this bishop allows himself the very 'cheap' accusation that the Pythons 'at least got your 30 pieces of silver' - which implies that they were involved in some kind of betrayal of the Christian belief, which is blatantly untrue. As for the film being 'cheap' - it's the most brilliantly produced of the Python films, based on a wonderfully comic story - that Brian is born just down the street from where the actual Nativity occurred, and that the three wise men initially mistook him for the Messiah. The film in no way satirises Christianity itself, but does satirise the concept of idolatry and the willingness of people to follow blindly a 'leader' who doesn't have any qualifications at all. If anything, the film is an affirmation of the 'historical' Christian narrative - which is going on in parallel to the antics of Brian et al. as the film unfolds.
A perfect song in many ways - lyrical sense, voice, melody and musical arrangement! There is soul and sincerity in this song. We pull this music out from the past to the present to feel this again. Anyway, the Savage Garden CD is always on my shelf.
@ribbs 13, IVE NEVER HEARD THIS ONE. BUT I LOOKED IT UP, HE DID WRITE IT. AND I THINK THIS IS HIM SINGING IT. HE SAID IT WAS JUST ONE OF THE FEW SONGS HE WROTE UP WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO WRITE YOUNG GUNS AFTER WHAM RAP WHEN THEY NEED ANOTHER SINGLE. HE SAID HE WAS TRYING TO WRITE SOMETHING AND STEPHEN CAME OUT. GEORGE SAID IT WASN'T WORTH HEARING. BUT ACTUALLY LISTENING TO IT, I LIKE IT.. GREAT CLIP ROBYN ❤❤❤❤👍👍
❤
Love you ❤
One of my favourites. What a music! Full of light and sorrow. Darren sings it so easily but the meaning is so deep. Like comfort after sadness. Such a relief. In this song, I feel, there is a key to why band went apart.
With out band before vocal chords lyrics we are good
Voice good
Axel voice is good
funk again
Dude was so far ahaead of the game
Say what you want about him, the man was so damn eloquent, charismatic and had vision for Australia. No wonder Menzies had already said in the 1950s “that lad may well become Prime Minister one day”. Their government faced dramatic global events and Whitlam was never all that interested in economics… but he was undeniably a huge presence on the political stage.
Who’s Gary

We need politicians like Keating here now in 2024
Palin looks like he want to yell ‘why don’t you shut the f*** up you stodgy old poofter!’
The music is distracting. It doesn't even sound like it fits. Glad they didn't put it in.
Worst pm we ever had. It was good that he was kicked out.

I loveeee u the most Michael
Michael. O. Magico. O. King. 😮😊🎉
This would of worked if the music was softer
19:00..."They would even say...go on, bitch!!!." Poor Janet with Jimmy and Terry being cussed out. Glad they found their rhythm together.
40 years later, similar situation at the Paris Olympic 2024 opening ceremony, the Church snow flakes get once again offended for nothing.
Stevie’s drumming at the close is epic!
The bishop is the gayest man i have ever seen.
Kind of ironic that the most played song at British funerals is “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” instead of some Christian hymn.
That synth line sounds like the same notes Stevie played harp on the Funktafied Rainbow live.
Ladies and gentlemen... Ms. Grace Jones ✨️ 🙌🏾 ♥️ ❤️
OMG! I've never heard this!!!! Fire
I can only imagine the howls at the Harrison home during the original broadcast. #futurebonusreelmaterial

Wow wow wow…
She’s Fabulous ❤
Am I the only one who thought when hearing this song in the closing…that a woman was singing lol???
Fabulous!
Muggers and Runcie were very erudite people trapped by beliefs so intransigent that they crippled their critical faculties.
Boring church people is lack of humour.
Fantastic! Jean sounds incredible, more please!
Can't understand people repeating the fact that Stevie gave the song away in the comments because this info is already in the original post. What about reading the original post before writing any comment? By the way, it's an excellent recording with a great bass performance by Nathan Watts. I can only hope for the release of all Stevie's tracks lying in the vaults.
